July 15 Update

Still plugging away. Some days I think I won't see any more progress any time soon. And then today I managed to empty one big black garbage bag of fabric into the drawers that are now cleaned and accessible under my white cabinets.

There was even a bonus! In searching for a doll house kit that is buried in this house somewhere, we discovered 8 almost empty bookshelves (i.e. shelves behind doors). This means more of my boxes of books can be moved out of my sewing room, thus adding a bit more space.

It's a long, slow process. But then, as they say, Rome wasn't built, or even cluttered, in one day.

Here's my frame in its new location, with some boxes of fabric on top. I don't even want to think about tackling that shelf behind it.

On a more quilty note, Sunday afternoon was spent at a the Prince Edward County quilt show with a friend. Some more fabric followed me home, along with a brand new pair of pinking shears. We also stopped at a roadside market on the way home and picked up some local produce, and a couple of frozen quiches. The quiches were amazing, and there is no match for the taste of freshly cooked yellow beans and potatoes, with nothing but a bit of butter on them. Yum!

I hope you had a great weekend!

July 11

So today I used most of my 15 minutes putting together this rolling set of drawers. It's a good thing I only got as far as the two bottom drawers, because I forgot to put the wheels on. That will be easily fixed tomorrow morning.

Happy Friday!

July 10 Update

Yes, I'm still slowly whittling away at the problems in my sewing room. And yes, I'm making slow progress.

The fame is moved to the end of the room, and DH is going to level it in the new location. He had to go out and buy a brand new level for this, as the bubble had disappeared from his old one. Oh well. At least he had an excuse to go to Canadian Tire. LOL

I'm still decluttering and sorting, but at least my cabinets have been unearthed excavated. Now to pull everything out, and then put everything back in again.

Here's a shot of what I'm facing:

The problem with these shelves is that they are small pantries. This means that they don't take "normal" sized baskets. So some creativity will be required. I'm also sorting out some of the fabric that I've purchased and been gifted. This will take some time. Hopefully in the meantime I can get back to some sewing so that I'll see a bit of progress in that area too.

More to come!

A New Month and the Challenge Continues

Yes, I'm still working every day in my sewing room - for 15 minutes at a time. There's still a long way to go, but here's a picture of my nice, newly-painted floor where we're going to put my quilt frame.

Doesn't that look nice and shiny?

Tomorrow we'll move the frame into the end space, and start rearranging the rest of the sewing furniture in the room. I wonder if I'll have space for a nice little reading corner?
